Johnstown Housing Authority provides housing to eligible low or very low income families and individuals.
Residents pay rent based on income, rather than on the size or type of accommodation.

Public Housing Program

Johnstown Housing Authority has eleven communities, scattered throughout Cambria County, seven with 983 apartments, which are designed for low income families and individuals. There are four communities that are designed for elderly and disabled families. They consist of 521 low income apartments.

Housing Choice Voucher Program

Under the Housing Choice Voucher Program, JHA also provides rental subsidy for up to 960 very low income families and individuals throughout Cambria County. This program is designed to provide applicants an opportunity to choose housing on the open market from private landlords who are willing to participate in the program.
